Ignite Studio seeks submissions for “Works on Paper,” our upcoming group exhibition that showcases the near-infinite uses of paper in the visual arts. Show us how you use paper in your practice.
About “Works on Paper”
“Works on Paper” seeks just that – visual artwork that is either composed of or on paper. Artwork can either be physically drawn, painted, or printed on paper, or the artwork can be about the topic of paper conceptually and how it is utilized. This material is the foundation for so many types of art. Students learn to draw on paper, paper is used for proofing and making prints, paper is cut up and reassembled into collage; and even photographs are typically printed on paper.
The flat thin object of paper transforms under an artist’s touch: show us how far you take this deceptively simple material.

Presentation
- For this show your works may or may not be framed. If you are bringing unframed work it MUST NOT be matted. Framed artwork can still be matted.
- Unframed work will be displayed with paper clips or magnets which may dent or crease paper. By bringing in unframed work you are agreeing that this is a risk you are willing to take.
- Artwork under glass is more protected than unframed work. Ignite Studio is an all-ages public space that can see a high volume of patrons.
- All 2D work that is framed MUST be wired for hanging BEFORE drop-off. No sawtooth hangers. Please see this guide to learn how to get started wiring your work.
- 3D work is accepted. Our pedestal dimensions for 3D work that cannot be displayed on the floor are 17”x17”. A limited number of vitrines are available – please mention with your entry email if you would prefer your 3D work displayed under display cases. Priority of this will be decided on by staff.
Sales
All work is allowed to be listed for sale. Ignite Studio does not take commission or handle transactions. Sold artwork MUST remain on display through the duration of the exhibit.
