The library has always been a cool oasis in the middle of summer. It’s hot out! Maybe the kids are getting bored at home? Maybe you’ve finished the summer reading program? Time to try something new! Visit us in Ignite Studio for one of our engaging drop-in activities we offer daily 6 days a week. Instructions, materials and inspiration are all supplied. You just have to bring your imagination.
We choose projects that are appropriate for ages 5 to 105. We offer Drop-In activities all throughout the year but summer might be the perfect time to come try your hand at something new and different. Come in this week for our Sewn Circuit week. You’ll be sewing with circuits to make a glowing felt creation with LED lights, conductive thread and a coin battery.
Paper Engineering week is next. Create a unique pop-up card that rivals what you’ll see in Hallmark! All with paper, scissors and a little glue.
Who doesn’t want to try painting with glow-in-the-dark paint the next week? Design an outer space scene or maybe something scary from the Upside Down? Leave it in the light then watch how it glows in the dark!
The next week in Ignite is our 1st birthday celebration! Come in a create a paper craft out of birthday wrapping paper.
The last week of July we’ll be decorating recyclables to look like rocket ships. You’ll be amazed how swirling a little paint inside a bottle will help create a rocket ship ready to go to infinity and beyond!
Drop-In Activities are set out for 2 hours with times varying each day. Feel free to come by anytime during those hours and create something special. Check our online event calendar for exact times and dates for each activity.
