Have you used our paper person kit yet? If you have and you’re looking to make it a bit more fun and add a dash of challenge to it, try making a paper puppet! The best part is, everything that you’ll need to turn the paper person kit into a paper puppet kit in Ignite is already included.
What’s Inside the Paper Puppet Kit in Ignite
Here is everything you’ll find in the paper puppet kit in Ignite.
- Paper person kit
- Split pins/Brads
- Scissors
- Glue
- Mini hole punch
All of these tools will be available in the Paper Person kit. If you can’t find them, please ask a team member for help.
How to Make a Paper Puppet
First you’ll add the skin color and facial features to your paper person and cut out the paper person.
Next color and cut out the clothes you want your person to wear. Once you’re done you’ll glue those onto the paper person, so it’ll look something like this:
Note: Since you’re going to be making arms and legs that move, you’ll want to cut the paper person with the clothes already glued on!
Then you’ll cut the arms and legs like so:
Once you’ve cut out the arms and legs, you may want to go in and clean them up by rounding the edges a bit more. Next you’ll use the mini hole puncher to punch small holes: one on each arm and leg and four total in the torso. It should look like this:
Now it’s time to put it all together! Use the mini split pins/brads in the kit to connect the arms and legs to the torso.
Feel free to get innovated! You can add hair, wings, a tail, anything you want!
If you make a paper puppet, we’d love to see your creation on our Ignite Community Discussion group on Facebook. Have fun and stay creative!
