Direct to Garment and Direct to Film vs. Sublimation
If you are a previous patron of the Ignite Studio in Fishers, you may already be familiar with the process of sublimation printing that is offered there. Direct to Garment and Direct to Film printing offer another option with an advantage to sublimation; the ability to print to dark fabrics! The Epson Surecolor uses a roller method for printing directly to the garment. This method applies a base coat of white ink to print colors on top of. Direct to Film transfers can be made to any fabrics, including those that are more textured, like denim or canvas.

Different Processes, Stunning Results Each Time!
Direct to Garment
The Direct to Garment process has been able to produce amazingly vibrant and bold colors! First, load a T-shirt or sweatshirt directly into the machine. In moments you’ll have a stunning piece printed with your artwork, photo, or company logo. The direct application process also makes creating larger batches of high quality garments convenient and accessible.

Direct to Film
The Surecolor can also print directly to heat-transferable film. Textured fabrics are well-suited for direct to film transfers. This process also gives a glossy finish to your designs. We have been especially excited about the versatility and fidelity that Direct to Film has been able to achieve. Print on canvas totes, denim jackets, tea towels, even leather!

Materials and Costs
Additionally, we ask that patrons bring materials to print upon. Our experts will help determine which printing method will best achieve the desired results for each project.
Cost to use the machine will be determined by ink usage and material usage (DTG pre-treatment spray, DTF powder and film, etc.).
