Introducing Ignite’s New Laser Engraver
Our laser engraver here at Ignite Studio is one of our most popular pieces of equipment. With several thousands of hours of operating time and over six years of service, it was time for an upgrade. We are all very excited to introduce you to our new laser engraver!
Getting Started
If you have ever used Ignite’s previous laser engraver, staff will take a couple minutes to walk you through any new important information regarding the new machine. Please notify us before using the new machine for the first time.
If you were never trained to use our previous laser engraver, you will be required to take our short certification course. To do that, you can get started on our website HERE.
Model – Boss Laser LS1630 – 105Watt
In this blog I will discuss some of the exciting new features, but if you’d like to see the full machine specs, you can find them HERE.
Features of the New Laser Engraver
Larger Cutting Area
The most obvious difference with this machine upgrade is the size. Our old laser engraver offered a working space of approximately 12” by 20” (240 square inches). Our new engraver doubles that by offering a 16” by 30” working space (480 square inches).

4-Way Material Tru-Pass-Thru™
While we aren’t planning to adjust the size of the materials we offer in our space, you can bring in your own larger materials to cut or engrave on. This new machine has a pass through that allows for materials to be slid in from any direction in the event the material is too large to be placed in through the front lid.

More Power & Faster Speeds
Our new machine features a much more powerful 105-watt laser. With this additional power, you can now cut through ½” materials with ease. The Boss LS model machines also have an improved Hybrid Servo Drive™ motor instead of the commonly used stepper motors. This improved motor allows for faster speeds.
Coming Soon! PiBurn V Roller Rotary
In addition to engraving on flat surfaces, we will soon have a rotary tool available for engraving onto round objects. When the rotary tool is plugged in, the Y-Axis will rotate rollers to turn objects inserted in the rollers instead of moving the laser head. This means you can engrave on objects like glasses and mugs. This option will be available at a future date.
