March 1 2025 – May 16 2025
The non-fiction 700s section of the library is all about the arts! In the stacks of the 700s, readers can browse for information on traditional mediums, such as painting and ceramics, and less traditional mediums, such as digital and graffiti art. You will find books on ikebana, crocheting with wire, stained glass, paper quilling, and more. “The 700 Collection” is a juried exhibit that showcases both adult and youth work in this classification. In the youth category, the winners were Aven Simko, 1st place for photography “Floating Umbrellas”, 2nd place went to Maggie Shepherd for mixed media piece “Exploration”, and Av Rose won for mixed media piece “Lost in Wonderland”. Adult winners included 1st place Mallory Coffey for “Strength”, subtractive charcoal drawing, 2nd place Gina Baird for “Giving Words Wisdom Cat Vessel”, ceramics and 3rd place was Dawn Richardson for “Sedona”, oil painting.
